📋 Description

• As a Staff Backend Engineer on the Grafana App Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in transforming Grafana into a scalable, multi-tenant observability platform that enables both open-source and proprietary apps to integrate seamlessly with dashboards, alerts, incidents, and telemetry. Your work will directly impact how thousands of companies monitor and manage their systems, from climate science to financial trading, ensuring reliability and innovation at scale.
• Day to day, you will code new backend features in Golang, enhance system operability, author and review design documents, shape the product roadmap, mentor teammates, and participate in on-call rotations (weekday 12h x 5d and weekend 24h x 2d) to ensure system reliability. You’ll leverage AI-assisted development tools with company support to accelerate prototyping, testing, and refactoring while maintaining high code quality.
• You’ll join Grafana Labs, a remote-first, open-source leader with over 20M global users and trusted by enterprises like Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase, and eBay. • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in scalable SaaS architectures, distributed systems, and multi-tenancy while gaining influence over technical direction. 🎯 Requirements

• Strong coding skills with operational experience in software you have built
• Experience working on SaaS platforms at scale, including distributed systems challenges like scalability, multi-tenancy, data isolation, and high availability
• Excellent communication skills with ability to express ideas clearly in writing and meetings, and to choose appropriate communication modes
• Willingness to collaborate across teams, align with stakeholder needs, and incorporate feedback transparently
• Pragmatic mindset: prioritizing progress over perfection, handling ambiguity effectively
• Familiarity with or enthusiasm to learn Golang, the primary backend language used at Grafana Labs
