📋 Description

• As a Staff Backend Engineer on the Grafana App Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in evolving Grafana’s core architecture into a fully multi-tenant, scalable observability platform that enables both open-source and proprietary apps to integrate seamlessly with dashboards, alerts, incidents, and telemetry.
• Your day-to-day work will involve designing and implementing backend systems for Grafana Cloud, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance as the platform supports growing numbers of enterprise customers and complex SaaS workloads.
• You will join a remote-first, global engineering team at Grafana Labs, a company trusted by over 20M users and 3,000+ enterprises including Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase, and eBay, where open-source values, transparency, and innovation drive everything we do.

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience building and scaling SaaS platforms at scale, particularly in backend systems handling high-throughput, multi-tenant workloads.
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) or similar systems programming languages, with a track record of delivering production-grade backend services.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, API design, and observability principles (metrics, logs, traces).
• Experience with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, Prometheus, or similar monitoring and alerting systems.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in remote, asynchronous environments with strong communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with Grafana’s ecosystem (Mimir, Loki, Tempo) or similar observability stacks is a nice-to-have.
