📋 Description

• Staff Backend Engineer role focused on building and optimizing tier 1 services that form the core of ClickUp’s all-in-one productivity platform, specifically maintaining and scaling the ClickUp filesystem that underpins all product functionality.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and maintaining robust backend systems using Node.js (Express and NestJS), collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive projects, tuning and optimizing database queries for peak performance, improving existing code for better efficiency, troubleshooting and debugging issues to ensure smooth operations, and sharing knowledge to foster a culture of learning and growth.
• Part of the Hierarchy Squad at ClickUp, a company architecting the future of work through its converged AI workspace that unifies tasks, docs, chat, calendar, and enterprise search with context-driven AI, empowering millions of teams to break free from silos and reclaim productivity.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience building backend services for SaaS products
• Expertise in relational database query optimizations (prefer PostgreSQL)
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git
• Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanb, etc.)
