📋 Description

• Design, build, and operate scalable production backend systems that power Conversica’s next-generation AI platform.
• Own and deliver critical platform components including integrations, data ingestion pipelines, messaging infrastructure, orchestration logic, and foundational data services used by AI agents.
• Lead the implementation of significant platform-level features with strong autonomy, making day-to-day technical decisions within your domain of ownership.
• Partner with Staff Engineers and tech leads to contribute to and align on broader architectural decisions across the platform.
• Ensure high reliability, performance, and observability of backend systems that support real-time AI interactions at scale.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and frontend teams to translate platform requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Maintain and evolve existing backend services while introducing modern, scalable patterns and technologies to improve system resilience.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to proactively detect and resolve platform issues before they impact users.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 operational stability of critical backend infrastructure.
• Document system designs, APIs, and operational procedures to enable knowledge sharing and reduce team dependency on individual contributors.
• Evaluate and adopt new tools, frameworks, and cloud services that enhance platform capabilities, security, and efficiency.
• Prioritize technical debt reduction and refactoring efforts to sustain long-term platform health and developer velocity.
• Contribute to code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives to uphold engineering standards and foster team growth.
• Translate business and product goals into technical roadmaps that align with the company’s vision for AI-driven customer engagement.
• Advocate for best practices in backend engineering, including test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience designing and operating production-grade backend systems at scale
• Deep expertise in one or more backend languages such as Python, Java, or Go
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and event-driven design
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience building and maintaining data ingestion pipelines and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives with autonomy and deliver complex platform components
