📋 Description

• Build and scale the Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS) platform, a configurable, multi-tenant travel commerce engine used by global banks, airlines, and fintech partners to power their travel booking experiences.
• Own end-to-end development of features spanning backend systems to partner-facing surfaces, prioritizing shipping complete functionality over narrow stack expertise.
• Architect scalable, foundational patterns that enable rapid launch of new partner experiences while maintaining system reliability and performance at scale.
• Leverage AI agents and automated workflows to accelerate development cycles, orchestrating tools to build, test, and deploy features faster than traditional methods.
• Design and implement guardrails and feedback loops to ensure AI-assisted development remains productive, reliable, and aligned with product quality standards.
• Work autonomously in a low-process environment driven by trust, documenting decisions asynchronously through clear specs and technical designs.
• Collaborate directly with product managers and business partners to define roadmap priorities, translating business goals into technical solutions that drive incremental spend and cardholder engagement.
• Improve codebase usability for both human engineers and AI agents, identifying and executing improvements that enhance velocity and safety in development.
• Apply product thinking to architecture decisions, anchoring quality and design in customer experience rather than technical elegance for its own sake.
• Work primarily in Scala and GCP services, but demonstrate ability to quickly learn and contribute across stack boundaries using AI tooling as needed.
• Contribute to a diverse, global team by giving and receiving feedback to foster individual and collective growth.
• Drive technical consensus across teams through thoughtful communication, even in asynchronous settings, ensuring alignment on system design and tradeoffs.
• Help evolve Hopper’s Commerce platform from a travel vendor into a strategic card partner by connecting cardholder behavior to personalized offers and insights.
• Contribute to a platform serving 410M cardholders across banking partners, with minimal footprint yet massive growth potential in the $1 trillion online travel commerce market.

• Experience designing and shipping complex distributed systems at scale
• Proven ability to orchestrate AI agents and automated workflows to accelerate software development
• Mastery-level willingness to learn and work in Scala and GCP services
• Strong product thinking anchored in customer experience, not technical purity
• Demonstrated judgment in knowing when to trust AI output and when to intervene
• Ability to drive technical decisions and consensus asynchronously through documentation
