📋 Description
- • Build and scale the Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS) platform, a configurable, multi-tenant travel commerce engine that powers booking experiences for global partners including banks, airlines, and fintech leaders.
- • Own end-to-end development of features spanning backend systems to partner-facing surfaces, prioritizing shipping complete functionality over narrow stack expertise.
- • Leverage AI agents and automated workflows to accelerate development, orchestrating workflows and establishing feedback loops that ensure reliable, production-grade outputs.
- • Design scalable architectural patterns and foundational systems that enable rapid launch of new partner experiences across HTS’s growing client base.
- • Collaborate directly with product managers and business partners to define, refine, and prioritize the product roadmap based on customer impact and business goals.
- • Improve codebase maintainability and velocity by implementing changes that enhance both human and AI agent efficiency, focusing on safety, clarity, and scalability.
- • Work in a low-process, high-autonomy environment where decisions are made asynchronously through thoughtful documentation and technical specs.
- • Architect distributed systems using Scala and GCP services, with flexibility to adapt to other backend languages like Go, Python, or Java if experience is strong.
- • Apply product thinking to technical decisions—anchor architecture and quality in customer experience rather than theoretical elegance.
- • Evaluate the strengths and limitations of LLMs to determine when to trust AI-generated outputs and when to intervene manually for accuracy and reliability.
- • Contribute to a diverse, global team by giving and receiving feedback to foster individual and collective growth.
- • Drive technical consensus across senior engineers without formal processes, relying on clear communication, data, and documented rationale.
- • Work remotely as an independent contractor based in Argentina, supporting the HTS business unit with full ownership of equipment, workspace, and local compliance obligations.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience designing and shipping distributed systems at scale, with a preference for Scala or willingness to master it
- • Proven ability to orchestrate AI agents and automated workflows to build, test, and maintain complex systems
- • Strong product thinking with a focus on customer impact over technical purity
- • Demonstrated experience in asynchronous decision-making and documentation-driven collaboration
- • Deep understanding of LLM capabilities and limitations, with practical judgment on when to intervene in AI-assisted development
- • Experience working as an independent contractor or in contractor-based roles, with awareness of local tax and legal obligations
