- • As Staff Communications Manager at Handshake Technologies, you will own and evolve the corporate communications strategy for a company at the intersection of the future of work and AI, shaping narratives that impact 25 million job seekers, 1 million+ employers, and 1,600 educational institutions.
- • Day to day, you will manage press relationships and inbound media inquiries, proactively pitch stories and data insights, partner with the CEO and leadership on executive narratives and media opportunities, prepare executives for high-visibility engagements, lead reactive communications during sensitive moments, oversee external agency partners, and guide Handshake’s corporate LinkedIn presence with strategic content counsel on-brand alignment.
- • You will join a mission-driven team at Handshake, a fast-growing AI data business founded on the belief that everyone deserves a path to a great career, working alongside talent from Palantir, Meta, Scale AI, and former YC founders to build a $1B run-rate business shaping the AI economy.
- • In this role, you will sharpen Handshake’s external narrative across company, Careers, EDU, AI, and future-of-work themes, build scalable communications processes, and elevate the company’s voice in the market through trusted media relationships and strategic storytelling at global scale.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years corporate communications, public relations, executive communications, or media relations, ideally in high-growth tech or a top communications agency
- • Strong executive communications experience, including partnering with founders, CEOs, or senior leaders on external narrative, media strategy, and thought leadership
- • Proven ability to build press relationships and secure meaningful earned media coverage across business, technology, workplace, education, or AI press
- • Excellent writing and messaging skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling narratives
- • Strong judgment under pressure, especially in reactive, sensitive, or ambiguous communications moments
- • Experience managing external communications agencies or consultants
- • Comfort working cross-functionally with leadership, marketing, product, legal, policy, people, and sales teams
