- • As a Staff Content Designer at BetterUp, you will define the content strategy and voice standards that shape how humans experience the platform—from onboarding flows to coaching interfaces to AI-powered product surfaces—playing a central role in the company’s mission of human transformation at scale.
- • You will lead end-to-end content design for high-complexity, high-visibility product initiatives, establish scalable content patterns and governance frameworks, champion accessible and inclusive language, mentor designers, drive AI-assisted content workflows, and collaborate across Product, Engineering, Research, Legal, Behavioral Science, brand, marketing, and customer support teams to ensure cohesive, responsible, and ethical user experiences.

- • In this role, you will achieve thought leadership in AI-augmented content design, build experimentation programs for emerging AI tools, scale best practices across the Design function, and help define industry standards for content design in the age of AI while mentoring senior peers and advancing your impact through external speaking, writing, or open-source contributions.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience in content design, UX writing, or a closely related field, with significant time spent in a product-led environment
- • A portfolio demonstrating systems-level content thinking, voice and tone development, and measurable impact on product outcomes
- • Proven ability to operate autonomously—setting priorities, navigating ambiguity, and driving decisions across senior stakeholders
- • Deep experience collaborating with Product, Design, Engineering, and Research teams on complex, multi-surface initiatives
- • Strong command of accessibility and inclusive design principles as they apply to written language
- • Experience building or significantly contributing to content design systems, pattern libraries, or editorial standards
