- • As a Staff Design Engineer at Onebrief, you serve as the critical bridge between Product Design and Frontend Engineering, transforming visionary concepts into high-fidelity, functional user experiences that empower military planners in high-stakes environments.
- • Your day-to-day involves collaborating with designers to prototype real-time collaboration features like dashboards, maps, and timeline visualizations; translating user needs into data-driven interactive prototypes; evolving the design system in Figma and code; and partnering with engineers to implement scalable, performant solutions.
- • Onebrief is an all-remote, mission-driven company founded in 2019 by veteran planners and technologists, backed by over $320M in funding from top-tier investors and valued at $2.15B, dedicated to building AI-powered workflow software that makes military staffs faster, smarter, and more efficient.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in design-to-engineering collaboration, master scalable component systems, gain hands-on experience with AI-augmented prototyping tools, and directly impact how military commands plan, brief, and execute missions through intuitive, reliable interfaces.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of experience moving ideas from design through prototyping to shipped UI with measurable user impact
- • Proficiency in translating user intent into interaction logic and working hands-on in code and prototypes
- • Experience with data-dense, highly interactive UIs under constraints such as low connectivity, strict permissions, and audit requirements
- • Strong written communication skills, with ability to work asynchronously and convey ideas through flows, prototypes, and specifications
- • Eligibility for and ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
