- • As a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) within SandboxAQ's AI Simulation group, you will be at the forefront of innovation, serving as the critical technical liaison between our groundbreaking Large Quantitative Models (LQMs) and our most impactful client engagements. - • Your primary mission will be to ensure the technical success and seamless integration of our advanced AI solutions within client workflows. This involves a high degree of agency, where you will be expected to independently identify intricate technical challenges, design and implement bespoke solutions, and manage large-scale computational resources. Your responsibilities will span the entire deployment lifecycle, from wrapping intricate scientific application logic and orchestrating massive data transformations to integrating with sophisticated Agentic systems.
- • This role demands a true "builder" mentality, characterized by the seniority to lead the technical vision of a project and the humility to execute any task necessary to achieve our collective goals. You will be empowered to take ownership and drive projects from inception to completion, making a direct and significant impact on our clients' scientific advancements.
- • Key responsibilities include orchestrating technical delivery by partnering closely with scientific teams. You will conduct thorough workflow audits, pinpoint technical bottlenecks, and assume complete accountability for the end-to-end technical execution of client contracts. This proactive approach ensures that our clients receive the full benefit of our AI capabilities.
- • You will also be responsible for architecting and developing solutions. This involves designing and deploying high-velocity code to enhance existing tools or create entirely new frameworks. These frameworks will be crucial for wrapping complex scientific logic and automating intricate R&D workflows, thereby accelerating the pace of discovery.
- • Driving cross-functional collaboration is another vital aspect of this role. You will act as the essential technical translator, bridging the gap between non-technical researchers and our product teams. Your expertise will be crucial in validating proposed solutions and ensuring they rigorously meet the demanding scientific requirements of our clients.
- • Scaling and optimizing infrastructure will be a core function. You will own the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of cloud-based compute resources and data pipelines, guaranteeing their stability, performance, and scalability throughout the entire contract lifecycle. This ensures that our clients have the computational power they need, when they need it.
- • Pioneering technical integration is paramount. You will lead the charge in integrating SandboxAQ's core technologies, including our advanced LQMs and Agentic systems, into bespoke client environments. This integration is key to solving major scientific challenges and unlocking new possibilities in fields like drug discovery and materials science.

🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of professional software development experience, with deep proficiency in Python and modern architectural patterns.
- • Proven ability to operate independently in high-ambiguity environments, moving from ideation to functional code with high velocity.
- • Hands-on experience with cloud orchestration (Kubernetes, Batch systems) and workflow management tools like Airflow.
- • Technical expertise in building REST APIs, managing database systems (ORMs, schemas), and utilizing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- • Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of shipping systems in fast-moving, customer-facing environments.
