📋 Description

• Build, own, and evangelize shared frontend libraries to accelerate development and ensure consistency across engineering teams at Phantom.
• Own frontend performance and architecture by reducing bundle sizes, improving rendering efficiency, and establishing scalable best practices for the entire frontend organization.
• Improve, scale, and evangelize the company’s design system, ensuring it remains robust, performant, well-documented, and deeply integrated into all frontend workflows.
• Develop and maintain reusable React and TypeScript components that serve as the foundation for Phantom’s consumer-facing crypto wallet applications.
• Optimize data fetching, caching, and state management patterns to enhance application responsiveness and user experience across multi-chain platforms (Solana, Ethereum, Polygon, Bitcoin).
• Drive adoption of frontend standards and architectural patterns across engineering teams through documentation, training, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to translate complex financial and crypto functionality into intuitive, high-performance user interfaces.
• Champion user-centric design principles to ensure the wallet experience remains simple, secure, and accessible for millions of users worldwide.
• Maintain and enhance the performance of Phantom’s self-custodial wallet, which serves over 15 million monthly active users and ranks among the top 50 apps globally.
• Ensure frontend codebases are secure, scalable, and aligned with industry standards for crypto applications handling sensitive user assets.
• Evangelize frontend engineering excellence by mentoring engineers, conducting architecture reviews, and promoting knowledge sharing across the organization.
• Contribute to the evolution of Phantom’s multi-chain infrastructure by building abstractions that unify interactions across Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Polygon networks.
• Participate in setting long-term technical roadmaps for the frontend platform, prioritizing maintainability, speed, and developer experience.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and observability in all frontend systems under ownership.
• Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and evaluate their applicability to Phantom’s scale and security requirements.
• Support onboarding of new users into the crypto ecosystem by ensuring the wallet’s first-time experience is seamless, intuitive, and trustworthy.
• Work within a fully remote, globally distributed team with flexible hours and a strong culture of autonomy and ownership.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience with strong frontend development focus
• Expertise in React and TypeScript
• Proven experience with component architecture, state management, and performance optimization
• Demonstrated experience with data fetching, caching, and state management in large-scale applications
• English language proficiency
