- • Own end-to-end design strategy and execution for the Miter platform, including interaction design, design system development, and componentry across all core applications.
- • Partner daily with product and engineering teams to define requirements, align on goals, and ship high-quality user experiences for both new and existing features.
- • Conduct direct customer research by engaging with construction contractors to understand their complex workflows, pain points, and how Miter integrates into their daily operations.
- • Shape the vision and implementation of AI-powered functionality at Miter, applying a user-centered lens to ensure AI features are intuitive, trustworthy, and add measurable value.
- • Experiment with emerging AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude) to accelerate design processes, prototype interactions, and improve team efficiency across product, design, and engineering.
- • Deliver incremental value through rapid prototyping, design experiments, and iterative shipping—prioritizing learning and customer feedback over perfection.
- • Lead the development and maintenance of a scalable, consistent design system that supports product growth and ensures accessibility and usability across all user touchpoints.
- • Advocate for user-centered design principles, usability standards, and accessibility guidelines throughout the product lifecycle.
- • Operate with a first-principles mindset to solve complex problems in construction operations software, focusing on pragmatic solutions that deliver immediate customer impact.
- • Drive alignment across cross-functional teams to ensure design decisions are informed by business goals, technical constraints, and real-world user behavior.
- • Contribute to defining how AI is embedded into the product experience, helping to establish best practices for AI-assisted design and user interaction.
- • Ship small, valuable features independently while mentoring junior designers and elevating the overall design maturity of the organization.
- • Participate in company-wide and team-specific off-sites to foster collaboration, alignment, and culture-building across distributed teams.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years in product design at a high-growth software company
- • Strong user-centered design skills with demonstrated expertise in usability, accessibility, and a portfolio showcasing impactful work
- • Strong leadership and collaboration skills with a track record of working effectively with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams
- • Bias for action and delivery—prioritizing incremental shipping and rapid learning over prolonged perfection
- • AI-native work style—eager to leverage AI tools to extend capabilities and accelerate team output
- • Proven experience in 0-1 product delivery, including prototyping, design experiments, and incremental launches to unlock insights
