- • Partner with product, engineering, data, research, and operations teams to define and build the vision for operator independence and self-serve tooling within Handshake AI.
- • Develop strategic product visions and collaborate with cross-functional partners to sequence them into pragmatic, phased roadmaps.
- • Collaborate closely with Model Enablement and Fellow Experience squads to design tools and systems that directly enable their workflows and outcomes.
- • Partner with operations leaders to deeply understand operator workflows through pilots, user shadowing, and direct observation to uncover pain points and unmet needs.
- • Translate complex, ambiguous human-centered problems into clear, simple, and actionable design solutions that improve efficiency and reduce friction.
- • Own the end-to-end design process—from initial research and user journeys to wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs—with a strong point of view on craft and execution.
- • Iterate rapidly using research-backed methods to validate assumptions and refine designs before production.
- • Raise the bar for design culture by applying systems thinking, product reasoning, and pixel-level precision across all deliverables.
- • Facilitate design workshops and mentoring sessions to elevate the design maturity of cross-functional teams.
- • Embed design thinking into day-to-day workflows to ensure user-centered outcomes are prioritized at every stage of product development.
- • Prioritize ruthlessly to focus on high-impact work that aligns with company goals and user needs.
- • Take hands-on ownership of design tasks; no task is below or outside your scope—everything is your responsibility to see through to completion.
- • Maintain deep alignment with Handshake’s mission to empower career access at global scale through AI-driven data infrastructure.
- • Design complex platforms with multiple stakeholders, moving parts, and evolving requirements, ensuring scalability and usability across diverse user roles.
- • Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights to inform design decisions and measure the impact of shipped features.
- • Communicate design decisions, tradeoffs, and rationale clearly to engineers, product managers, executives, and non-design stakeholders.
- • Continuously seek feedback and incorporate diverse perspectives to improve outcomes and foster inclusive design practices.
- • Stay current with emerging trends in enterprise tooling, internal platforms, and AI-driven operational systems to inform design strategy.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of product design experience, ideally working on enterprise products, operations tooling, or internal platforms.
- • Strong communicator who clearly articulates design decisions, tradeoffs, and the thinking behind them to partners and leadership.
- • Deep visual and interaction design expertise, with a proven track record of shipped work and measurable impact.
- • Experience designing complex systems, workflows, or platforms with many moving parts and stakeholders.
- • Highly collaborative, valuing diverse perspectives and incorporating them into the design process to achieve better outcomes.
- • Design-led thinker who raises the bar by embedding design thinking into day-to-day work and helping others grow.
