- • As a Staff Product Engineer - Growth at Intercom, you will serve as a technical leader within the Self-Serve team, driving end-to-end customer journey improvements from discovery to paid conversion without sales involvement, directly impacting self-serve ARR and revenue growth through high-impact experimentation and product innovation.
- • Day to day, you will contribute to technical architecture for scalable systems handling customer-to-customer requests, participate in full software development lifecycle from ideation to implementation, build using AI-powered developer tools to reduce friction, mentor and hire engineers while raising technical standards, and collaborate closely with product, design, data, and GTM teams to execute experiments that improve sign-up, trial, and upgrade funnels.
- • You will join Intercom’s Growth organization, a cross-functional unit working closely with Marketing, Web, Billing, Pricing and Packaging teams, where ownership of self-serve customer acquisition, retention, and expansion is tightly aligned with revenue outcomes and supported by a culture of speed, intensity, and customer-centric innovation.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in growth engineering, distributed systems, and product-led growth strategies while shaping team technical direction, mentoring peers, and delivering measurable impact on customer adoption and revenue—positioning you as a key driver of Intercom’s next phase of scalable, self-serve success.
🎯 Requirements
- • Significant demonstrated impact of your work on product outcomes or team performance in prior roles
- • Deep knowledge of a high-level programming language (e.g., Ruby, Python, Perl) with ability to quickly learn or introduce better ways of working
- • 2+ years of experience as the primary technical leader for a team
- • Experience with distributed systems
- • Proven track record of collaborating directly with product teams and designers to deliver customer or user value
- • Background in building exciting SaaS products with genuine user adoption and satisfaction
