Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the technical roadmap for one of three product surfaces: vCluster, vNode, or vMetal, translating strategic vision into actionable engineering specs aligned with your background in cloud infrastructure or distributed systems.
- • Partner directly with the Head of Product and Engineering leadership to make critical architecture tradeoffs that define the future trajectory of the product platform.
- • Run alpha and beta builds hands-on to validate technical assumptions, identify integration issues before customer exposure, and ensure product stability at scale.
- • Engage directly with platform engineers at AI Cloud providers, regulated enterprises, and large internal platform teams to gather customer intelligence and uncover zero-to-one product opportunities.
- • Track evolving trends in the cloud-native ecosystem, particularly emerging tenancy primitives, and refine the technical narrative for buyer audiences in infrastructure and AI infrastructure markets.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and marketing teams to ensure product features align with go-to-market messaging, sales enablement, and customer support requirements.
- • Operate at the implementation level of Kubernetes — including controllers, CRDs, API machinery, and admission webhooks — not merely as a user but as someone who understands and influences its core architecture.
- • Drive product decisions informed by deep experience shipping infrastructure products that other engineers depend on in production environments.
- • Shape the positioning and messaging of the Infrastructure Tenancy Platform for AI, launched at KubeCon North America 2025, with an NVIDIA-validated reference architecture for DGX systems.
- • Contribute to a product culture rooted in open source, with direct exposure to vCluster (10k+ GitHub stars, 40M+ virtual clusters created since 2021) and its community-driven development model.
- • Work within a remote-first, globally distributed team with headquarters in San Francisco, operating under a results-oriented culture that prioritizes impact over hours.
- • Build and refine internal developer platforms that abstract infrastructure complexity for engineering teams, enabling faster innovation cycles and reduced operational burden.
- • Support the scaling of a venture-backed startup that has raised over $30M from top-tier VCs including Khosla Ventures, navigating hyper-growth from Series A through C phases.
- • Define tomorrow’s standards in Kubernetes-native infrastructure for AI, ML, and GPU-intensive workloads, with a disciplined approach to tearing down legacy patterns and building superior alternatives.
- • Ensure product delivery matches operational realities of running GPU data centers, including managed Kubernetes, fast isolated tenant provisioning, and automated node lifecycle management.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of product management experience in cloud infrastructure, platform services, or distributed systems
- • Deep Kubernetes fluency at the implementation level (controllers, CRDs, API machinery, admission webhooks)
- • Proven experience shipping infrastructure products that other engineers depend on in production
- • Customer-facing experience engaging with platform engineers and architects in enterprise or cloud provider environments
- • Experience with cloud-native ecosystems and technical buyer personas in infrastructure or AI/ML infrastructure markets
- • Demonstrated ability to own technical roadmaps and translate strategy into executable engineering specs
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary including equity
- • Platinum-level health, dental, vision, and life insurance for employees and eligible dependents
- • Flexible working schedule with focus on results over clock-in/clock-out hours
- • Workplace flexibility to work from any location with remote-first culture
Skills & Technologies
About Loft Labs, Inc.
Loft Labs created vCluster, an open-source tool that spins up lightweight, virtual Kubernetes clusters inside existing namespaces. By running an isolated control plane within a single namespace, teams gain cluster-like isolation without the cost or overhead of full clusters, enabling safe multi-tenancy, faster CI/CD, and easier development workflows. The company provides enterprise support, a management platform, and add-ons to scale virtual clusters across clouds and on-premises infrastructure.
