📋 Description

• Own the product strategy for Docker’s internal Infrastructure and AI Developer Tools platform, serving hundreds of engineers across the organization and enabling the development of customer-facing products like Docker Desktop, Docker Hub, and Docker Scout.
• Define and execute a long-term roadmap that integrates foundational platform investments (multi-tenant Kubernetes, multi-region networking, self-service provisioning, observability) with AI-native capabilities that automate and enhance software development workflows.
• Treat the internal developer platform as a product: design golden paths, paved roads, and self-service capabilities that reduce friction, increase autonomy, and drive adoption through measurable outcomes rather than mandate.
• Partner with engineering, security, and product teams to translate infrastructure priorities—reliability, scale, cost, and networking—into a trusted, actionable roadmap that teams can depend on.
• Shape the direction of AI and agentic workflows across the SDLC, including code authoring, review, incident response, and operations, with a focus on safe, auditable, and human-reviewed automation.
• Identify internal tools and platform capabilities with potential to become customer-facing offerings, and lead the strategy to transition them from prototype to GA, partnering with product, design, and go-to-market teams.
• Establish clear contracts, documentation, and defaults for platform usage, ensuring teams can provision, deploy, and observe systems with minimal friction and strong guardrails.
• Define and track key metrics for platform success: adoption rates, reduction in support load and toil, provisioning and deployment speed, system reliability, and developer productivity.
• Influence roadmaps across technical teams without direct authority by articulating platform constraints, trade-offs, and opportunities, and aligning internal tooling with broader business objectives.
• Serve as the trusted product advisor on infrastructure and developer tooling decisions across Docker, building deep relationships with engineering leaders, principal engineers, and security teams.
• Bring customer and market insights back into the internal platform roadmap to ensure alignment between internal enablement and external product value.
• Balance long-term platform vision with near-term team needs, prioritizing investments that deliver immediate value while building durable foundations for future scale.
• Measure the effectiveness of AI tooling through adoption, productivity gains, and developer satisfaction, ensuring automation enhances—not replaces—human judgment.
• Publish an integrated product strategy and roadmap within 45 days, including clear priorities, success metrics, and lightweight intake processes for team consultation.
• Deliver early wins within the first 45 days that unblock teams or demonstrate tangible value from platform or AI tooling investments, with instrumentation to track adoption and impact.
• By the one-year mark, become the recognized product leader for infrastructure and developer tooling at Docker, with measurable improvements in provisioning speed, self-service adoption, and reduced toil.
• Lead the productization of at least one internal capability into a commercial offering, partnering with product and go-to-market teams to define positioning, packaging, and go-to-market strategy.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience, with 4+ years at Staff level or above
• Proven track record building and scaling platform, infrastructure, or developer-tooling products at high-growth technology companies
• Strong technical acumen to engage in architecture discussions around Kubernetes, CI/CD, networking, APIs, and observability
• Deep understanding of platform-as-a-product principles: self-service, golden paths, adoption over mandate, and internal customer success
• Fluency in AI and agentic workflows, including hands-on familiarity with LLM-powered tooling and judgment on appropriate automation use cases
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence without authority across a technical organization
