Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the end-to-end product vision, roadmap, and execution for Wishlist, a new product extending Babylist’s relationship with families beyond the newborn phase into early childhood.
  • • Build a multi-sided gifting experience that simplifies gift-giving for parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other gift-givers during birthdays, holidays, and seasonal occasions.
  • • Define and own outcome metrics for the product, track performance, and drive iterative improvements based on data and user feedback.
  • • Engage directly with customers — including parents and gift-givers — to synthesize needs, validate assumptions, and inform product decisions.
  • • Prioritize across competing stakeholder needs: parents seeking simplicity, children’s preferences, and gift-givers requiring guidance — without defaulting to the loudest voice.
  • • Operate as a general manager: understand unit economics, revenue levers, and business impact when making roadmap decisions.
  • • Design and implement engagement and growth loops that drive activation, retention, and repeat usage around key life moments.
  • • Partner closely with engineering and design teams to run rapid experiments, iterate quickly, and serve as the connective tissue between product, design, and engineering.
  • • Build and ship products from 0 to 1 without a playbook, embracing ambiguity and defaulting to action through prototyping, testing, and learning.
  • • Leverage AI daily in your work — using tools like Claude and ChatGPT to prototype, analyze data, unblock decisions, and accelerate output — while maintaining ownership of judgment and outcomes.
  • • Conduct light SQL queries, use Figma for prototyping, or contribute to code execution when it’s the fastest path to an answer — and know when to hand off to specialists.
  • • Model AI-native product development by embedding AI into your daily workflow and setting standards for the team around you.
  • • Reflect openly on what’s working, adapt course when needed, and bring curiosity to ambiguity rather than anxiety.
  • • Work cross-functionally without waiting for permission, demonstrating low ego and a bias toward action.
  • • Help Babylist transition into an AI-native product organization by embodying the behaviors and practices expected of all PMs at the company.
  • • Extend Babylist’s relationship with customers from the 40 weeks of pregnancy into the 1,000 weeks of early childhood, creating long-term customer lifetime value.
  • • Establish the roadmap, team structure, and definition of success for a net-new line of business with no prior product manager.
  • • Contribute to building a generational brand in baby by creating products that positively impact millions of families annually.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience building a product, company, or line of business from 0 to 1
  • • Demonstrated sharp product sense and judgment with shipped work that reflects user delight and simplicity
  • • Ability to think like a general manager, understanding unit economics and business levers
  • • Experience building engagement and growth loops for activation and retention
  • • Obsession with direct customer engagement and translating insights into product decisions
  • • Comfort using AI tools daily in product work (e.g., prototyping, data querying, decision-making)

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • • Retirement savings plan with company matching and flexible spending accounts
  • • Generous paid parental leave and PTO
  • • Winter Wonder Week: company-wide paid week off at year-end
  • • Remote work stipend to set up your home office
  • • Perks for physical, mental, and emotional health, parenting, childcare, and financial planning
