  • • Veritone is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff QA Automation Engineer to join our dynamic engineering organization. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing our test automation strategy, ensuring the highest levels of quality across our comprehensive product suite. You will operate as a hands-on technical leader, responsible for writing production-quality automation code, mentoring fellow QA engineers, and collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams to embed quality assurance seamlessly throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
  • • At the Staff level, your influence will extend significantly to our QA architecture, critical tooling decisions, and the establishment of cross-team quality standards. This is an opportunity to make a substantial impact on how we build and deliver reliable, high-performing software.
  • • Your core responsibilities will include the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of scalable, robust end-to-end test automation frameworks. You will leverage modern tools such as Cypress and comparable technologies to build comprehensive test suites that ensure the integrity of our applications.
  • • You will take ownership of the test coverage strategy for all new features, meticulously crafting and maintaining regression suites that span across web, API, and integration layers. This proactive approach will minimize defects and ensure a consistent user experience.
  • • A key aspect of this role involves partnering directly with engineering leads to seamlessly integrate automated tests into our Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Experience with platforms like GitHub Actions and Jenkins will be crucial in streamlining our release processes and enabling faster, more reliable deployments.
  • • You will play a vital role in defining and enforcing stringent QA standards, best practices, and coverage criteria across all engineering teams. This includes championing a culture of quality and ensuring consistency in our testing approaches.
  • • Leading risk-based test planning and prioritization will be essential, particularly for complex releases involving multiple interconnected services. Your ability to identify critical areas and allocate testing resources effectively will be paramount.
  • • As a Staff Engineer, you will be expected to mentor junior and mid-level QA engineers. This mentorship will involve conducting thorough code reviews, engaging in pair programming sessions, and contributing to comprehensive documentation, thereby fostering the growth and development of the QA team.
  • • You will be a strong advocate for testability, actively participating in design reviews and sprint planning meetings. Your focus will be on "shifting quality left," ensuring that potential issues are identified and addressed as early as possible in the development process.
  • • Furthermore, you will drive cross-functional QA initiatives, spearhead tooling evaluations, and champion process improvements that benefit the entire organization. Your leadership will be key in elevating our overall quality engineering capabilities.
  • • This role demands a deep understanding of testing methodologies, including unit, integration, end-to-end, regression, exploratory, and performance testing. You will apply these methodologies to ensure comprehensive test coverage and identify potential performance bottlenecks or functional regressions.
  • • Excellent debugging skills are a must, enabling you to efficiently diagnose and resolve failures across complex, full-stack systems. Your analytical abilities will be critical in pinpointing the root cause of issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • • This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking company, working on cutting-edge technology and making a tangible impact on product quality and customer satisfaction.
