- • Architect and implement highly complex, cross-functional frontend systems that span multiple engineering domains, ensuring technical alignment and scalability across the organization.
- • Serve as the primary technical leader and subject matter expert for the frontend software ecosystem, setting the direction for code quality, design patterns, and operational excellence in frontend architecture.
- • Lead long-term technical initiatives that shape the evolution of the frontend architecture, driving architectural integrity and advocating for best practices across engineering teams.
- • Design and oversee the implementation of scalable, reusable frontend components through a shared design system with primitive-based foundations, composition-first APIs, and Storybook-driven development workflows.
- • Collaborate closely with product and design teams by reading Figma files fluently, providing technical feedback on UI/UX designs, and ensuring attention to detail in loading, empty, and error states.
- • Champion accessibility as a non-negotiable baseline by implementing WCAG 2.1 AA standards, managing keyboard navigation, focus management, and ARIA semantics across all frontend applications.
- • Mentor and sponsor junior and mid-level engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and career development support, elevating the overall quality and efficiency of the engineering team.
- • Drive resolution of critical technical debt, production incidents, and bugs by leading root cause analysis and implementing sustainable fixes that prevent recurrence.
- • Partner with backend engineers to design and validate API contracts, understand how data shape, latency, and authentication choices impact end-user experience, and ship changes across service boundaries when necessary.
- • Optimize frontend performance using Web Vitals, bundle analysis, and real-user monitoring (RUM) tools such as Datadog or equivalent, ensuring a fast, reliable user experience at scale.
- • Apply deep expertise in React and TypeScript within large, long-lived codebases to build maintainable, high-performance frontend applications.
- • Maintain a full-stack perspective by understanding backend service impacts on frontend behavior, contributing to backend code when needed, and reasoning about system-wide data flows.
- • Lead complex, cross-team initiatives requiring coordination across multiple engineering groups, ensuring timely delivery of technical solutions and alignment on architectural goals.
- • Promote agile software development practices while continuously improving team velocity, code review quality, and deployment reliability.
- • Contribute to a mission-driven fintech platform that empowers underserved small businesses with fast, flexible financing solutions through scalable, reliable software systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of experience in technical leadership, mentorship, and sponsorship
- • Deep expertise in designing and implementing frontend systems and scalable architectures across multiple software applications and/or languages
- • Significant ability to influence others across technical and cross-functional teams
- • Full-stack perspective with hands-on experience in front-end architecture and understanding of backend service impacts on end-user experience
- • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- • Several years of experience in agile software development
