- • Build, extend, troubleshoot, and fix complex heterogeneous backend applications in GoLang and Ruby, along with small self-contained GoLang microservices.
- • Improve the execution engine of custom third-party code using Ruby DSL, focusing on isolation, performance, and new feature implementation.
- • Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code in Ruby and GoLang for high-scale enterprise systems.
- • Integrate and manage data storage solutions including Postgres, S3, DynamoDB, Kafka, and ClickHouse.
- • Contribute across all phases of the development lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment and maintenance.
- • Conduct thorough code reviews for teammates to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices.
- • Provide technical leadership on shared projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align on architecture and execution.
- • Evaluate and propose improvements to existing systems to enhance scalability, reliability, and performance.
- • Identify and resolve system bottlenecks and bugs through analytical problem-solving and deep debugging.
- • Maintain high standards of code quality, organization, and automation within the codebase.
- • Explore and evaluate emerging technologies such as Rust and WebAssembly for future integration into the platform.
- • Design and implement distributed systems with strong guarantees around performance, scaling, storage, durability, atomicity, concurrency, data protection, and encryption.
- • Work with enterprise-grade cloud-native infrastructure to power real-time orchestration at scale for Fortune 500 companies.
- • Participate in architectural discussions and decision-making for core components of Workato’s Recipe runtime engine.
- • Support the migration of legacy Ruby systems toward modern GoLang and Rust-based architectures.
- • Collaborate with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones in a fully remote-capable environment.
- • Engage in continuous learning and adoption of new tools, protocols, and cloud technologies to maintain technical excellence.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience building scalable distributed backend applications
- • Excellent understanding of distributed systems patterns and algorithms
- • Strong proficiency in Ruby and GoLang; multilingual programming experience required
- • Deep knowledge of database technologies including both SQL and NoSQL systems
- • Experience working with public cloud infrastructure providers (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- • Familiarity with cloud deployment tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and ArgoCD
