- • As a Staff Software Engineer, Android at Poshmark, you will play a critical role in shaping the mobile experience for millions of users on a leading social fashion marketplace, where your work directly impacts how people discover, buy, and sell style through intuitive and delightful applications.
- • Day to day, you will architect, build, and iterate on the Android application, spearhead the full development lifecycle from API to UI, collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams, write high-quality maintainable code with thorough unit testing, participate in code reviews, own high-visibility product features, and drive improvements in CI/CD pipelines and Android codebase architecture.
- • You will join a world-class engineering team at Poshmark, a company that blends the human connection of physical shopping with the scale of ecommerce to create a vibrant, social marketplace used by 165 million members across women’s, men’s, kids’, home, and more categories.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in Android development, lead end-to-end feature delivery, influence technical direction through architectural improvements, mentor peers via code reviews, and gain experience scaling a consumer-facing app used by millions, positioning you as a technical leader in mobile innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and software design for embedded systems
- • 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience with Android app development (apps released to Play Store)
- • Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and Android Studio
- • Knowledge of Android design patterns such as MVVM and Repository
- • Deep experience with Activity/Fragment lifecycle, threading, and data persistence using SharedPreferences, SQLite, Room, or similar
- • Strong understanding of custom UI development with UX and consumer behavior intuition
- • Understanding of RESTful web services for connected applications
- • Proficiency with Git and CI/CD tools like Jenkins
- • Experience writing unit tests using JUnit, Mockito, or similar frameworks
