- • As a Staff Software Engineer on Lyft’s Cloud Security team, you will help build and scale a critical function that protects the company’s cloud infrastructure, ensuring the safety of user data and systems across multi-cloud and container environments.
- • Day to day, you will establish and execute a roadmap for secure cloud architecture, write readable and maintainable code, design security protocols for Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure at scale, lead large projects from inception to implementation, and collaborate with engineering teams to build inherently secure solutions.
- • You will partner with internal teams on organizational security initiatives, unblock and support cross-functional partners, exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations, and implement detections, remediate findings, and enforce least privilege and separation of development environments.
- • The Cloud Security team at Lyft focuses on improving security maturity by architecting and executing a comprehensive security model for cloud infrastructure, impacting the entire company from infrastructure to web and mobile applications, IT, and autonomous vehicles.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in cloud security, automation, and tooling while contributing to high-impact objectives that scale security through engineering practices, frequent shipping, and collaboration across Lyft’s rapidly growing engineering organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of relevant industry experience
- • Experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go) and distributed systems
- • Deep expertise with one or more major cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Oracle Cloud, etc.)
- • Expertise in cloud service architecture and cloud security concepts
- • Experience with Kubernetes and container security
- • Familiarity with securing and hardening Linux hosts
- • Ability to write clear, scalable, and clear design documentation
