- • As a Staff Software Engineer in Consumer Engineering at NerdWallet, you will lead the execution of the team's most complex technical work across the full stack, setting engineering standards and pace while driving high-quality software delivery at scale.
- • Day to day, you will build and maintain full-stack features and services, own production reliability for Consumer Credit Cards, set up observability tooling, respond to incidents, and mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and documentation.
- • You will partner with Product and Engineering leadership to inform technical direction, roadmap planning, and best practices, while participating in Pod Lead rotations and stakeholder communication to ensure team success.

- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in full-stack development, technical leadership, and system architecture while mentoring others and shaping the technical foundation of a mission-driven product used by millions.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8-10+ years of software engineering experience as a Full-stack web developer with a frontend bias
- • Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js
- • Production experience at scale with observability tools (DataDog or similar) and web performance optimization (Core Web Vitals, caching, critical rendering path)
- • Experience building REST APIs, GraphQL, and utilizing cloud services (Vercel, AWS, GCP, Azure)
- • 1-2+ years of experience in a tech lead capacity
- • Ownership, accountability, communication, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making skills
