- • Design, build, and scale cloud-based data pipelines across internal, third-party, and cloud-based source systems to support critical business insights and operations.
- • Interface with cross-functional teams to extract, load, and transform data using cloud-native data engineering principles.
- • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop efficient strategies for data acquisition and integration.
- • Write unit tests and validate software against defined acceptance criteria to ensure reliability and quality.
- • Evolve and transform application design and architecture toward leading-edge technologies and industry best practices.
- • Author, apply, and advocate for team standards in coding, documentation, and testing practices.
- • Conduct impact analysis to proactively identify effects of changes across multiple applications and systems.
- • Learn and apply business process domain knowledge to align technology solutions with operational needs.
- • Experiment with and test new ideas, validate assumptions against business needs, and recommend data-driven solutions.
- • Lead code reviews and communicate application changes clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- • Document code and projects thoroughly to ensure maintainability and support by other team members.
- • Debug production issues across multiple applications and propose effective, sustainable solutions.
- • Read, write, and review technical design documents to guide development and alignment across teams.
- • Contribute to team sprint commitments and actively participate in Agile/SCRUM practices, including recommending process improvements.
- • Lead continuous learning initiatives to improve code quality, design patterns, and domain knowledge within the team.
- • Participate in the talent selection process for engineering roles.
- • Regularly overlap with U.S. business hours to enable seamless collaboration with global team members.
- • Remain fully aligned with Credit Acceptance’s day-to-day work, responsibilities, and performance expectations despite legal employment through an EoR partner in India.
- • Maintain compliance with company policies, processes, and guidelines as a fully integrated member of the global team.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field; or equivalent work experience
- • Minimum 8 years of software engineering experience with recent focus on cloud data platforms
- • Experience in a lead role overseeing the technical direction of a data engineering team
- • Strong understanding of one or more data engineering programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala)
- • Practical experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including Agile/SCRUM and Waterfall
- • Experience designing scalable batch and streaming data pipelines
