📋 Description

• Build interactive data visualizations to help climate leads understand their company’s emissions data using scalable web technologies.
• Develop APIs to unify carbon data access for customers and internal engineering teams, ensuring seamless integration and data consistency.
• Create tools that enable financial institutions to measure and report emissions across their portfolio companies with audit-ready precision.
• Design and implement systems that allow customers to effectively ingest, process, and interpret complex business data related to climate and ESG metrics.
• Ship code to production on day one, contributing directly to customer-facing features and internal tooling from the start of employment.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, climate science, and data science to translate user needs into functional software solutions.
• Iterate on software based on real-world customer feedback and evolving regulatory requirements such as CSRD and other voluntary reporting standards.
• Work on full-stack projects spanning frontend interfaces, backend services, and data pipelines using Node.js and related ecosystems.
• Contribute to the evolution of a growing engineering team by participating in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical mentorship.
• Maintain high standards for software quality, scalability, and maintainability while operating in a fast-paced startup environment with mission-driven priorities.
• Engage with enterprise clients like Airbnb, Carlyle Group, FedEx, Visa, and Dr. Martens by building features that directly support their sustainability reporting and decarbonization goals.
• Operate from a Watershed office location (Denver or other hub/satellite) four days per week, with in-person collaboration as a core expectation for this role.
• Participate in transparent interview and onboarding processes that prioritize clarity, consistency, and inclusion throughout the candidate journey.
• Ensure software solutions are aligned with regulatory frameworks and industry standards for climate data reporting and verification.
• Contribute to the culture of a mission-oriented startup focused on driving real environmental impact through technology.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering industry experience
• Proven experience in Node.js web development or building data pipelines
• Demonstrated ability to build scalable software starting from user needs
• Willingness to work from an office 4 days per week (Denver location)
