- • Own and evolve complex, user-facing product areas end-to-end, from product definition and system design to implementation, launch, and iteration
- • Partner closely with product, design, and engineering leadership to shape roadmap decisions and translate ambiguous problems into durable solutions
- • Lead high-leverage initiatives that span frontend, backend, and data concerns, setting clear technical direction and guiding execution
- • Make thoughtful tradeoffs between user experience, system complexity, and delivery speed in a fast-moving product environment
- • Raise the bar on product quality, system correctness, and engineering craft across the stack
- • Act as a force multiplier for the team by reviewing designs, mentoring engineers, and unblocking others
- • Build and own product systems end-to-end with depth in either frontend (JavaScript, React/React Native) or backend (Python)
- • Operate with strong working fluency across the stack, leading product work beyond your primary area of expertise
- • Apply a product-minded approach to engineering, prioritizing user outcomes over technical elegance
- • Frame ambiguous problems, propose options, and guide teams toward pragmatic solutions
- • Communicate effectively and influence technical and product direction across disciplines
- • Mentor engineers and raise team-wide technical quality without requiring formal people management responsibilities
- • Contribute to scaling early-stage products and evolving systems as usage grows
- • Help shape engineering practices and standards as the team expands
- • Work within a small, senior engineering team with backgrounds from Rippling, Stripe, DoorDash, and Faire
- • Embrace independence while maintaining strong collaboration, focusing on outcomes rather than projects
- • Operate in a remote-friendly culture with office hubs in San Francisco, New York, Seattle, and Toronto
- • Participate in in-person company offsites to foster team cohesion and alignment
- • Engage with a mission-driven culture focused on revolutionizing frontline work through AI-powered labor market solutions
🎯 Requirements
- • Significant experience building and owning product systems end-to-end with depth in either frontend (JavaScript, React/React Native) or backend (Python)
- • Strong working fluency across the stack, able to lead product work beyond primary area of expertise
- • Proven ability to operate in ambiguity: framing problems, proposing options, and guiding teams toward pragmatic solutions
- • Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical and product direction across disciplines
- • Experience mentoring engineers and raising team-wide technical quality (people management not required)
- • Product-minded approach to engineering, prioritizing user outcomes over technical elegance
