- • As a Staff Software Engineer at Magnet Forensics, you will play a leading role in designing, developing, and supporting embedded Linux software with a focus on Python application engineering, contributing to the advancement of digital investigative tools used by law enforcement and security professionals worldwide.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include designing and shipping high-quality, maintainable, scalable, and performant code; architecting and improving large-scale distributed systems; implementing shared frameworks or design systems; identifying and implementing iterative improvements to legacy software on Graykey devices; and driving technical decision-making while mentoring and educating fellow engineers.
- • You will collaborate with engineers across your team and the broader organization to enhance the core infrastructure of Graykey, supporting the development of next-generation products that modernize digital investigations and help protect communities and national security.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in embedded Linux, Python engineering, and IoT software development; grow as a technical leader and mentor; influence architectural decisions across the organization; and contribute to mission-critical software that has a tangible impact on global safety and justice.

- • Proven experience designing and shipping high-quality code with a focus on maintainability, scalability, and performance
