- • Design, develop, and implement high-quality Java-based applications and microservices for Twilio’s Identity Platform.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features for mission-critical authentication and authorization systems.
- • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to established coding standards.
- • Troubleshoot and debug complex production issues to ensure high availability and performance of cloud-based services.
- • Own and operate high-scale, cloud-native systems and services that support global customer experiences.
- • Document technical specifications, architecture decisions, and operational procedures for team-wide clarity and continuity.
- • Manage end-to-end development workflows using GitHub for version control, Jira for task tracking, and internal build/deploy systems.
- • Contribute to the evolution of a secure, scalable identity platform used by hundreds of thousands of businesses worldwide.
- • Work within a remote-first environment that emphasizes global inclusion, connection, and impact across time zones.
- • Engage in occasional travel for in-person team or project meetings to foster collaboration and relationship-building.
- • Apply strong communication and collaboration skills to align engineering efforts with product and security goals.
- • Maintain deep expertise in Java and its ecosystem, including frameworks such as Dropwizard, Spring, and Hibernate.
- • Leverage distributed systems knowledge to build resilient, high-throughput microservices handling millions of requests daily.
- • Utilize databases such as MySQL, Aurora, and DynamoDB, and messaging systems like Kafka and Memcached to support data-intensive workflows.
- • Ensure systems are observable, maintainable, and meet Twilio’s standards for reliability and security.
- • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence within the Identity Platform Team.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in a computer science related field as a minimum requirement.
- • 8+ years of proven experience as a Java Developer, with a strong understanding of Java programming language and ecosystem.
- • Experience building resilient, high-throughput Microservices and distributed systems.
- • Strong understanding of REST APIs.
- • Experience with Java frameworks such as Dropwizard, Spring, Hibernate, or similar.
- • Experience with technologies like MySQL, Aurora, DynamoDB, Kafka, Memcached.
- • Experience troubleshooting complex production issues.
