📋 Description

• As a Staff Software Engineer on Airwallex’s Lending Platform team in Singapore, you will architect, design, and implement large-scale, secure, and scalable systems that power innovative credit products for enterprise clients globally.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include designing and maintaining robust lending services, building secure and well-documented APIs, leading design reviews, mentoring engineers, championing resilient distributed systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, promoting automated testing and monitoring, and driving improvements in platform architecture and engineering practices.
• You will join a Singapore-based Lending Engineering team that owns the design, delivery, and scaling of Airwallex’s credit product portfolio for global enterprise clients, working within a company valued at US$8 billion with over 2,200 employees across 26 offices worldwide.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, API design, and technical leadership while shaping the future of embedded lending at a global scale and growing your impact as a senior engineer in a high-visibility, mission-driven environment.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering with strong exposure to modern engineering practices, CI/CD, and quality engineering
• At least 2 years in a technical leadership role, mentoring engineers and leading engineering strategy definition and execution
• Strong computer science foundation and object-oriented programming skills with proven backend systems experience (Java/Kotlin and Spring/Spring Boot preferred)
• Extensive experience designing and building RESTful APIs with familiarity in modern API design principles and tools
• Experience with domain-driven design (DDD) and event-driven architectures in production environments
• Proven track record designing and maintaining high-throughput, low-latency, highly available distributed systems at scale
• Cloud experience with GCP (preferred) or AWS (EC2, RDS, ELB, CloudFront, etc.) with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with observability tooling such as Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus
