- • As a Staff Software Engineer in the AI Simulation group at SandboxAQ, you will serve as the primary technical bridge between the company’s Large Quantitative Models (LQMs) and high-impact client contracts in life sciences, driving technical enablement and success for critical partnerships in drug discovery and chemical simulation.
- • You will orchestrate technical delivery by partnering with scientific teams to audit workflows, diagnose blockers, and take full accountability for end-to-end execution; architect and develop high-velocity code to extend tools or build new frameworks for scientific logic and R&D workflow automation; drive cross-functional collaboration as a technical translator between researchers and product teams; scale and optimize cloud-based infrastructure including compute resources and data pipelines; and pioneer integration of core technologies like LQMs and Agentic systems into bespoke client environments.

- • In this role, you will achieve deep technical ownership of complex scientific software systems, lead high-agency projects from ideation to deployment, gain expertise in integrating AI with scientific simulation at scale, and grow as a technical leader in a mission-driven environment tackling global challenges in health and science.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of professional software development experience with deep proficiency in Python and modern architectural patterns
- • Proven ability to operate independently in high-ambiguity environments, moving from ideation to functional code with high velocity
- • Hands-on experience with cloud orchestration (Kubernetes, Batch systems) and workflow management tools like Airflow
- • Technical expertise in building REST APIs, managing database systems (ORMs, schemas), and utilizing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- • Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of shipping systems in fast-moving, customer-facing environments
