- • Design and build scalable backend systems that power Parafin’s merchant-facing financial products and services, including money movement infrastructure and product-agnostic tools.
- • Develop features that enhance the merchant experience and drive engagement through seamless integrations with partner platforms like DoorDash, Amazon, Worldpay, and Mindbody.
- • Collaborate with engineering and non-engineering stakeholders across the company to launch new products and iterate on existing ones to improve end-user outcomes.
- • Own the core platform infrastructure, identifying and prioritizing opportunities to accelerate product development while maintaining high reliability and performance.
- • Drive the development of both product and platform initiatives from inception to completion, taking full ownership of technical execution and outcomes.
- • Identify commonalities across disparate problem statements and design reusable abstractions to improve engineering efficiency and system maintainability.
- • Build and operate asynchronous systems and data pipelines in production environments to support real-time financial transactions and reporting.
- • Work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity, applying strong technical fundamentals to solve complex problems in capital markets, underwriting, compliance, and servicing.
- • Contribute to setting foundational engineering practices and culture on a small, high-impact team composed of veterans from Stripe, Square, Plaid, Coinbase, Robinhood, and CERN.
- • Partner closely with product, compliance, and operations teams to ensure technical solutions align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- • Participate in system design reviews, code reviews, and incident response to uphold quality standards across the platform.
- • Translate business needs into technical requirements and deliver robust, scalable solutions that support Parafin’s suite of funding, spend management, and savings tools.
- • Maintain a strong focus on software quality, system reliability, and operational excellence while iterating rapidly in a Series C growth-stage company.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of experience building and operating production backend or platform systems
- • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science (or related field)
- • Experience building and operating asynchronous systems or data pipelines in production environments
- • Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals and ability to own end-to-end development of platform initiatives
- • Comfort owning and driving development of both product and platform initiatives from scratch
- • Deep commitment to building high-quality software and taking pride in craftsmanship
