- • Support field sales teams by helping enterprise customers understand the value and technical capabilities of the Kong API and AI Connectivity Management platform.
- • Analyze customer requirements and map them to Kong’s platform features to demonstrate how Kong enables migration from monolithic systems to cloud-native architectures.
- • Build and maintain trusted technical relationships with customers throughout the entire sales lifecycle, from initial product evaluations to production deployment.
- • Lead and manage Proof of Concept (PoC) implementations, ensuring successful technical validation and customer satisfaction across assigned accounts.
- • Coordinate cross-functionally with support, product, and engineering teams to prioritize and resolve customer technical needs and escalations.
- • Develop and maintain technical documentation for DevOps teams, implementation guides, and professional services engagements.
- • Contribute to top-of-funnel marketing initiatives by authoring technical blogs, presenting at webinars, and participating in trade shows and field events.
- • Ensure 100% customer satisfaction within assigned account portfolio by proactively addressing technical concerns and driving successful adoption.
- • Act as a technical authority during executive and engineering-level discussions, translating business needs into technical solutions.
- • Stay current with cloud computing trends, open source business models, and emerging technologies including AI, LLMs, and API governance.
- • Participate in technical evaluations and architecture reviews with enterprise clients to align Kong’s platform with their infrastructure and security requirements.
- • Deliver technical presentations and demos tailored to diverse audiences including developers, architects, and C-level executives.
- • Identify and document product feedback from customers to inform roadmap priorities and product improvements.
- • Travel may be required for customer meetings, trade shows, and field events as needed.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience as a software engineer and/or sales engineer at a SaaS, open source, or enterprise software company
- • Solid understanding of cloud computing trends and open source business models
- • Proven experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and other cloud-native platforms
- • Hands-on experience with APIs, CI/CD automation frameworks, and AI/LLM technologies
- • Strong communication and listening skills, with ability to lead discussions with product managers, engineers, and executives
- • Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, high-profile startup environment
