- • As a Staff Technical Recruiter at Jerry.ai, you will be a critical operator who solves complex business problems by owning the full-cycle technical hiring process for engineering roles across the U.S. and Canada, directly contributing to the company’s mission to scale from 5M to 50M customers and become a $10B business in the $2T car ownership market.
- • You will deeply understand Jerry.ai’s business, define hiring problems through data-driven insights, identify candidate archetypes for top-tier software engineers, design and experiment with interview processes, and invent innovative sourcing and engagement strategies to attract the top 1% talent — functioning not as a support role but as a strategic hiring partner with full ownership of requisitions.
- • Day to day, you will: lead full-cycle recruiting for 3-4 concurrent engineering requisitions; source and engage passive candidates through advanced Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, and niche tech communities; conduct initial screens to assess technical and cultural fit; partner with hiring managers to refine job descriptions and evaluation criteria; design and iterate on interview loops including technical assessments and behavioral interviews; negotiate offers and close candidates competitively against top-tier startups and FAANG companies; maintain accurate candidate data in the ATS; provide recruiting metrics and insights to leadership; continuously improve the engineering hiring playbook based on market feedback and hiring outcomes.
- • You will collaborate closely with a small, high-caliber recruiting team and engineering leaders who are deeply invested in talent quality, operating in a culture where senior leaders stay hands-on and value craftsmanship in talent acquisition.
- • Jerry.ai is a profitable, growth-stage startup that has scaled revenue over 70X since 2019, raised $240M+ in funding, and achieved profitability in early 2024 — offering a stable yet dynamic environment where your impact on talent quality directly influences business outcomes.
- • In this role, you will develop expertise in scaling technical recruiting in competitive North American markets, gain experience in building and potentially leading a technical recruiting function, and evolve into a strategic advisor to leadership on talent strategy as the company prepares for its next phase of growth.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of technical recruiting experience with progressively increasing complexity in hiring intermediate to staff-level software engineers
- • Proven track record of successfully sourcing, engaging, and closing top-tier software engineering candidates in the U.S. and Canada
- • Experience operating within a growth-stage startup environment
- • Bachelor’s Degree required
- • Comfort with ambiguity, pivoting priorities, and working through rapidly changing conditions
- • Strong first-principles thinking — ability to understand problems deeply before proposing solutions
