📋 Description

• • Serve as a strategic finance partner to the ChatGPT Business product team, shaping product strategy, growth priorities, pricing decisions, and investment tradeoffs for OpenAI’s self-serve AI product for teams.
• • Own the end-to-end financial forecast for ChatGPT Business, including revenue, usage, margin, unit economics, leading indicators, and operational metrics that track product traction and performance.
• • Partner with Product, Engineering, Growth, Data Science, and Marketing leadership to evaluate growth initiatives, pricing and packaging decisions, channel strategies, and new product launches.
• • Translate product usage patterns, customer behavior, funnel dynamics, and financial data into actionable recommendations that inform both strategic planning and daily product decisions.
• • Build and refine planning and performance systems such as forecast methodology, KPI architecture, decision frameworks, executive narratives, and scalable reporting pipelines to accelerate team velocity.
• • Analyze AI, SaaS, product-led growth, pricing, and competitive dynamics to guide where OpenAI should invest and how the business model must evolve to maintain market leadership.
• • Prepare and deliver high-quality executive and Board-level materials that connect business performance, product strategy, key risks, and strategic recommendations with clarity and precision.
• • Develop product P&Ls, operating models, cohort analyses, funnel analyses, pricing models, and unit economics frameworks that link financial outcomes to product and growth decisions.
• • Work directly with product analytics datasets using SQL to extract insights, validate hypotheses, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
• • Maintain rigorous attention to detail and accuracy while operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment where data is often incomplete and business models are evolving rapidly.
• • Apply strong business judgment and product instincts to evaluate opportunities, assess tradeoffs, and mitigate risks in a frontier AI product context.
• • Stay current on emerging trends in consumption-based pricing, usage-based business models, and product-led growth to adapt OpenAI’s monetization playbook for AI-powered products.
• • Drive financial rigor across the ChatGPT Business org by establishing repeatable processes that align product execution with economic outcomes and long-term sustainability.
• • Advocate for OpenAI’s mission by contributing to the strategic deployment of frontier AI in enterprise workflows, ensuring the product scales responsibly and delivers value to businesses.
• • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure financial models reflect real-world product adoption, customer acquisition dynamics, and retention trends in a B2B SaaS AI environment.
• • Operate with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality to support rapid experimentation and iteration without relying on established corporate templates or legacy systems.
• • Engage with market signals and competitive benchmarks to inform pricing strategy, packaging options, and expansion opportunities for ChatGPT Business in global markets.
• • Contribute to defining the growth model for a novel AI product category by integrating technical capabilities, customer behavior, and economic constraints into scalable financial frameworks.
