  • • Drives doctor advocacy efforts as VSP’s principal insurance and legislative advocate among eye care professionals and doctor influencers, ensuring their needs are represented and relationships with VSP are maximized.
  • • Develops and implements short- and long-term strategic outreach plans, collaborating with internal business partners to align enterprise initiatives with provider engagement goals.
  • • Serves as the primary point of contact for resolving complex practice-level and policy issues, conducting research, analysis, and escalation management in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • • Represents the doctor perspective within VSP on industry-related matters, identifies emerging business trends, and advises the organization on potential impacts to strategy and partnerships.
  • • Maintains deep expertise in managed vision legislation, VSP insurance products, and the national and regional healthcare marketplace to inform advocacy and support efforts.
  • • Acts as a speaker and facilitator at events and workshops, delivering presentations and leading discussions to educate and engage eye care professionals.
  • • Travels up to 70% of the time to engage with doctors, influencers, and industry stakeholders across regions.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or a related field (Master’s preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • • Minimum of six years of experience in provider relations, direct outside sales, account management, business development, or client relationship management, preferably within the optical industry.
  • • Advanced written and verbal communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to address large audiences and facilitate group discussions.
  • • Demonstrated professionalism and leadership in managing controversy and conflict, with a track record of resolving complex issues through collaboration.
  • • Self-starter capable of working independently while also being a team player who contributes to strategic development and tactical execution.
