Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • ICF International, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Survey Programmer & Analyst to join our expanding Data Science team. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend technical survey programming skills with analytical capabilities, contributing to impactful research projects for EU institutions, the UK Government, and other non-governmental organizations. You will be an integral part of a dynamic, newly-formed team within a large, established, and stable global consultancy, working on a diverse portfolio of projects.
  • As a Survey Programmer & Analyst, your core responsibilities will revolve around the entire lifecycle of survey research. This includes collaborating closely with policy analysts to design effective survey questionnaires, translating these designs into functional online surveys using specialized programming software, and meticulously monitoring the execution of these surveys to ensure data integrity and smooth operation.
  • A significant part of your role will involve the critical post-survey phase: processing and analyzing the collected data. You will be expected to manipulate and interpret complex datasets, identify key trends and insights, and contribute directly to the creation of comprehensive research reports and other client deliverables. Your analytical contributions will be crucial in translating raw data into actionable intelligence for our clients.
  • You will play a key role in enhancing our survey methodologies. This involves actively contributing to the continuous improvement of survey design principles, data processing techniques, and analytical practices within the team. Your insights and experience will help refine our approach to data collection and analysis, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of research quality.
  • The position requires a proactive approach to project management, often juggling multiple projects simultaneously. You will engage with a wide range of stakeholders, from internal ICF staff across various departments and levels to external clients and partners. Effective communication and collaboration will be essential for success.
  • Beyond technical programming and analysis, you will also contribute to the business development aspects of our work. This includes assisting in the drafting of research proposals, articulating the value and methodology of our survey research services, and potentially presenting research findings to clients, showcasing the impact and outcomes of our projects.
  • This role is ideal for an individual with a strong academic foundation in social sciences, statistics, computer science, or mathematics, coupled with practical experience in survey programming and data manipulation. You should possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to precision.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a collaborative team player, is crucial. You will need to demonstrate strong organizational skills, the capacity to manage competing priorities, and the resilience to deliver high-quality work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and adaptability will be key attributes.
  • You will be part of a growing Data Science team, offering opportunities for professional development and exposure to a wide array of research domains. This role provides the "best of both worlds": the agility and close-knit nature of a new team, combined with the stability and resources of a globally recognized consulting firm.
  • Your work will directly influence policy decisions and strategic planning for major governmental and institutional bodies, making this a highly rewarding and impactful career opportunity. You will be instrumental in helping clients understand complex societal issues and make informed decisions based on robust data.
