Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Lead the end-to-end integration of EPIC PB Resolute across multiple hospital systems, ensuring seamless data flow between patient billing, clinical documentation, and revenue-cycle applications. You will serve as the primary technical liaison between Epic-certified engineers, revenue-cycle directors, and third-party vendors, translating complex business rules into precise interface specifications.
  • • Own the full project lifecycle—from initial requirements gathering through post-go-live optimization—by conducting gap analyses, mapping HL7/FHIR message structures, and configuring Epic’s Integration Engine (EIE) to support real-time eligibility checks, claim status updates, and remittance advice. Your work directly reduces claim denials and accelerates cash collections for a multi-billion-dollar health system.
  • • Design, test, and validate Epic PB Resolute interfaces with external clearinghouses, state Medicaid systems, and commercial payers. You will author detailed test scripts, execute regression and end-to-end scenarios in non-production environments, and coordinate user-acceptance testing with billing teams to guarantee 99.9 % uptime and zero data loss.
  • • Troubleshoot production incidents with urgency and precision, leveraging Epic’s system logs, Splunk dashboards, and SQL queries to pinpoint root causes. You will implement permanent fixes, document lessons learned, and mentor junior analysts on debugging techniques that cut mean-time-to-resolution by 30 %.
  • • Continuously optimize interface performance by analyzing throughput metrics, tuning thread counts, and refining message queuing strategies. Your recommendations will be backed by data and presented in executive-level dashboards that quantify cost savings, compliance improvements, and patient-experience gains.
  • • Champion data integrity and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, 5010) by establishing automated validation rules, audit trails, and exception-handling workflows. You will partner with Compliance and Information Security to conduct quarterly risk assessments and ensure every integration point meets or exceeds industry standards.
  • • Collaborate with Epic-certified developers to extend PB Resolute functionality through custom build components, including benefit accumulators, contract modeling, and advanced claim-edits. You will document technical specifications, maintain version control in Git, and facilitate code reviews that uphold best-practice design patterns.
  • • Provide tier-3 support during go-lives and major upgrades, serving as the on-call escalation path for interface failures, data-corruption events, and payer connectivity issues. Your calm, methodical approach under pressure will stabilize environments within SLA windows and protect millions in daily net revenue.
  • • Drive knowledge-sharing across a distributed team by creating wiki articles, lunch-and-learn sessions, and video tutorials that demystify Epic integration concepts. Your commitment to upskilling colleagues will foster a culture of continuous learning and reduce single-point-of-failure risks.
  • • Influence the strategic roadmap by evaluating emerging interoperability standards (TEFCA, Da Vinci), piloting new Epic APIs, and presenting ROI analyses to senior leadership. Your insights will position the organization as an early adopter of next-generation revenue-cycle technologies.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Epic PB Resolute certification or equivalent Epic certification with 3+ years hands-on build and integration experience
  • • Demonstrated expertise in HL7 v2.x, FHIR, X12 5010, and Epic’s Integration Engine (EIE) configuration
  • • Proficiency with SQL, Splunk, or similar log-analysis tools for root-cause analysis and performance tuning
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • • Experience supporting revenue-cycle integrations in a multi-hospital, multi-payer environment

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Fully remote work arrangement with no on-site requirement (must reside in IL, IN, IA, WI, MO, OH, MI, or FL)
  • • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage starting day one
  • • 401(k) with generous company match and immediate vesting
  • • Annual education stipend and paid Epic re-certification opportunities
  • • Generous PTO plus paid volunteer days and floating holidays
