Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end creation of high-fidelity digital simulation models that predict how complex automated material-handling, robotics, and packaging systems will perform before a single bolt is tightened. You will translate mechanical layouts, control logic, and operational rules into dynamic models in AnyLogic, FlexSim, Plant Simulation, MATLAB, or Simulink, then run thousands of “what-if” scenarios to validate throughput, cycle time, OEE, energy use, and labor allocation.
- • Partner with mechanical, controls, and software engineers to integrate simulation output directly with PLC, WES/WCS, SCADA, MES, and ERP environments—turning your models into living digital twins that mirror real-time operations and enable virtual commissioning.
- • Serve as the analytical backbone of every major project: generate data-driven recommendations that influence multi-million-dollar capital decisions, space layouts, and staffing plans. Present findings in crisp executive dashboards and customer workshops that translate complex stochastic results into clear, actionable insights.
- • Build reusable simulation libraries and templates that accelerate future projects across conveyor networks, AMR/AGV fleets, robotic picking cells, and high-speed sortation systems. Continuously refine these assets to capture lessons learned and emerging best practices.
- • Lead risk-reduction exercises by stress-testing designs against peak-season demand spikes, equipment failures, and labor shortages. Quantify the ROI of alternative configurations and champion the most robust, cost-effective solutions.
- • Collaborate with business-development teams to craft compelling simulation demos for RFP responses and trade-show showcases. Your models will help prospects visualize how FORTNA’s intelligent software and automation can transform their fulfillment operations.
- • Mentor junior engineers and cross-functional project teams on simulation methodologies, statistical analysis, and visualization techniques. Contribute to the company’s long-term virtual-commissioning roadmap and help define standards for model governance, version control, and data integrity.
- • Translate AutoCAD layouts and P&ID schematics into accurate 3-D representations, ensuring every motor, sensor, and divert is faithfully replicated. Validate model assumptions through on-site time-studies and stakeholder interviews during 25–50 % travel to customer distribution centers.
- • Document assumptions, calibration data, and sensitivity analyses in concise technical reports that become part of the customer’s operational playbook. Maintain meticulous records so future teams can reproduce, extend, and audit your work.
- • Stay at the forefront of simulation technology—evaluate new solver engines, AI-driven optimization plug-ins, and cloud-based execution platforms. Prototype enhancements that keep FORTNA ahead of competitors and deliver even faster, more accurate insights to clients.
