📋 Description

• As a Talent Researcher at Deepgram, you will play a strategic role in shaping the company’s ability to attract top-tier technical talent by mapping emerging domains in Voice AI, LLMs, and infrastructure ML before competitors even recognize the need. This is not a reactive sourcing function but a proactive intelligence role that enables Deepgram to stay ahead in the fiercely competitive AI talent landscape by identifying hidden talent pools and delivering actionable insights that inform hiring strategy at the leadership level.
• You will build and maintain deep, evergreen talent maps across priority technical domains such as applied ML research, infra engineering, voice agents, and GTM functions, focusing on identifying key builders and influencers—not just those with prominent titles—by analyzing org structures at AI labs, hyperscalers, voice startups, and adjacent technology companies.
• You will partner closely with recruiters and hiring managers to translate ambiguous hiring needs into structured research plans, clarifying what “good looks like” for each role, defining precise search criteria, and delivering high-quality longlists rapidly to accelerate intake-to-outreach cycles.
• You will generate market intelligence on compensation trends, geographic clustering of talent, hiring velocity, emerging companies, and adjacent talent pools, providing leadership with strategic insights that go beyond who to hire to explain where and why to target specific talent segments.
• You will maintain just-in-time readiness by curating and updating evergreen longlists in core verticals so that Deepgram can move swiftly when headcount is approved, reducing time-to-hire and improving the quality of early outreach.
• You will continuously improve Deepgram’s research infrastructure by refining workflows, enhancing tooling usage (including Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, and data tools), improving documentation, and ensuring data hygiene so that the talent intelligence system scales effectively with the company’s growth.
• You will operate with speed and precision, delivering structured longlists, org breakdowns, and competitive snapshots within days of a role intake to enable fast calibration and personalized outreach, all while maintaining high standards of accuracy and insight.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in talent research, executive search, or high-complexity sourcing with a strong analytical component, preferably in technical or technology-driven environments.
• Proven ability to build detailed org charts and talent maps across complex technical domains, with ideal experience in AI/ML research labs, speech/audio ML, developer infrastructure, or high-growth technical startups.
• Fluency in modern sourcing and research tools including LinkedIn Recruiter, LinkedIn Insights, data enrichment platforms, structured spreadsheets, and ATS systems (e.g., Ashby), with a demonstrated ability to systematize messy or ambiguous inputs into clear, actionable outputs.
