📋 Description

• Tax Accountant - US SALT (State and Local Tax) role at Interactive Brokers LLC, supporting the Global Tax Team in managing state and local tax compliance, risk mitigation, and value creation through strategic tax planning and process improvement.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing state and local tax returns (income/franchise, sales/use, property), supporting audits, conducting tax law research, monitoring legislative changes, maintaining tax calendars, assisting with nexus and apportionment analyses, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate data reporting and identify process improvements.
• The Global Tax Team partners with Accounting, Treasury, Technology, Customer Service, and Marketing to uphold the company’s commitment to technological innovation and global market access while minimizing tax costs and ensuring timely, accurate tax filings.
• This role offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in multistate tax concepts, lead tax research and planning initiatives, contribute to process optimization, and grow professionally within a dynamic, multinational financial services leader known for innovation and client-centric solutions.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in SALT compliance and consulting (public accounting or corporate tax department)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
• Demonstrated expertise in multistate tax concepts, nexus, apportionment, and tax research tools (e.g., Bloomberg Tax, CCH, Thomson Reuters)
• CPA certification (or actively pursuing with completion expected) desired
• Experience with external tax compliance software (OneSource or ProSystem fx) preferred
