• Tax Expert — Provision, Planning & Indirect Tax - AI Research: This role bridges deep tax expertise with cutting-edge AI development, where your professional judgment becomes the benchmark for evaluating how frontier AI models reason through complex tax scenarios. You will directly influence the training and evaluation of AI systems by translating real-world tax practice into structured tasks and evaluation criteria.
• What the person will do day to day: Design realistic tax tasks involving provision calculations, multi-jurisdictional planning scenarios, and ambiguous indirect tax questions; write detailed evaluation rubrics that assess sound tax reasoning and defensible positions; review AI-generated tax analyses for technical accuracy and compliance; build reference solutions across direct and indirect tax to anchor model evaluation; identify where AI models misapply tax rules, overlook jurisdictional nuances, or take unsustainable positions.

🎯 Requirements

• 5–8+ years of experience in tax, either in public accounting practice or a corporate tax function
• Proven experience owning a tax provision or running tax planning across multiple jurisdictions
• Ability to clearly explain tax positions and reasoning, not just outcomes, suitable for teaching or evaluation purposes
• CPA, EA, ACA / CTA, or equivalent certification (preferred but not required)
