- • As a Team Lead, Engineering at Deel, you will lead a cross-functional team of 6-10 engineers, balancing 50% hands-on technical work with 50% leadership responsibilities to drive technical excellence and deliver scalable, innovative solutions in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
- • You will design, code, and deliver high-quality, scalable applications using Node.js, conduct thorough code reviews, and ensure best practices in development, testing, and deployment to maintain high coding standards and technical quality.
- • You will provide mentorship and technical guidance to foster growth and skill development within the team, while promoting Agile methodologies to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
- • You will collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to align technical requirements with business objectives, drive technical planning and execution, and represent your team in cross-functional discussions to ensure seamless alignment on goals.
- • You will play an active role in hiring and scaling the team, manage performance cycles, provide structured feedback, and cultivate a culture of collaboration, inclusion, continuous learning, and engineering excellence that champions diversity and supports professional growth.
- • You will define and implement technical strategies aligned with organizational goals, lead innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development, identify and mitigate technical risks, and resolve complex multi-team challenges by fostering collaboration across disciplines.
- • You will push back on product decisions when necessary, presenting well-reasoned arguments to prioritize technical health, scalability, and long-term success, while facilitating knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across teams.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and RESTful API design.
- • 2+ years of experience managing and mentoring engineers, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- • Strong technical acumen and a track record of building scalable, robust systems.
- • Proficiency in automated unit, functional, and integration testing.
- • Experience managing performance reviews and scaling teams in a high-growth environment.
- • Passion for exceptional user experiences, innovative problem-solving, and technical excellence.
