- • Team Lead (ReactJS / Node.js) at Playbook, Inc., a leading creator platform for fitness, health, and wellness, where you will lead a small, high-performing engineering team while remaining hands-on as a part-time individual contributor, accountable for both technical delivery and team growth.
- • Day to day, you will write code, contribute to architecture, facilitate team decisions, partner with Product and Design, own execution cadence, unblock critical features, review architectural decisions, and mentor engineers to ensure they do their best work.

- • In this role, you will deepen your technical leadership, strengthen your ability to align engineering with product goals, improve your skills in team facilitation and technical mentorship, and gain ownership over team health, delivery, and long-term technical strategy.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript and a proven track record in shipping production web applications end-to-end.
- • 1+ year of direct team leadership experience managing or formally leading a small engineering team (2+ people), including conducting 1:1s, providing feedback, and ensuring accountability for team delivery.
- • Strong experience with React.js and modern frontend patterns, including building responsive, user-friendly interfaces with attention to detail and performance.
- • Strong experience with Node.js, including designing GraphQL schemas, understanding resolvers and dataloaders, and structuring APIs for maintainability.
- • Advanced TypeScript proficiency, including writing complex types, generics, conditional types, and using TypeScript to enforce contracts and model domain logic across the stack.
- • Demonstrated ability to facilitate team decisions by gathering input, communicating trade-offs clearly, and driving alignment under ambiguity.
- • Strong experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), including schema design, query optimization, and reasoning about consistency and performance.
- • Active daily use of AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, or similar) for development, debugging, and problem-solving.
- • Strong communication skills in English, with comfort working in a remote, cross-timezone team and collaborating asynchronously with engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
