📋 Description

• As a Team Lead for Vendors and Contracts at Procurify Technologies Inc., you will serve as a player-coach engineering leader responsible for building and scaling a new AI-native team focused on enhancing the vendor and contracts solution through the development of a vendor portal and collaboration features critical to the company’s mid-market product strategy. This role combines hands-on technical contribution with people leadership, requiring you to manage a team of 4–6 full-stack engineers while actively coding, mentoring, and driving technical excellence in a remote-first Canadian environment.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading, mentoring, and contributing to the codebase by managing a team of AI-native software engineers, providing coaching for technical excellence, fostering individual career growth, and nurturing a culture of trust while remaining an active contributor to the code. You will drive velocity by leading your team to deliver against ambitious goals using AI-first workflows, defining success metrics, tracking progress transparently, and communicating proactively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and celebrate wins. You will own the technical direction and long-term vision for the Vendors and Contracts team, ensuring designs are architecturally sound, scalable, and secure. You will guide your team in building the vendor portal and collaboration features using cutting-edge AI development tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot, leading by example in adopting agentic coding practices. You will forge a leadership triad by partnering closely with the team’s Product Manager and Product Designer to deeply understand customer needs and drive product success. Additionally, you will develop leaders by mentoring engineers and supporting the professional growth of your team members.
• You will join Procurify, an AI-enhanced Intake to Pay platform serving mid-market organizations, committed to helping companies take control of spend and save money through intelligent procurement technology. • In this role, you will have the opportunity to build a new AI-native team from the ground up, shaping the technical foundation and culture of a strategic initiative at the forefront of software engineering innovation. You will grow as a technical leader by working closely with senior engineering leadership, refining your ability to balance hands-on contribution with people management, and gaining experience in scaling AI-accelerated development practices within a SaaS environment. You will also deepen your expertise in modern full-stack technologies (Python/Django, TypeScript/React, AWS, Kubernetes) while advancing your skills in AI-assisted development, architectural decision-making, and cross-functional leadership within a high-trust product triad.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven hands-on leadership with 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 1 year in a direct people management role, and a strong desire and proven ability to remain actively involved in coding.
• Experience building scalable, customer-facing SaaS products using modern technologies such as Python/Django, TypeScript/React, AWS, and Kubernetes, with practical, hands-on experience accelerating development using AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
• Strong architectural acumen with proven experience in software design principles and patterns, including a track record of evolving large-scale applications and guiding teams through technical complexity.
