Tech Lead, Core Product Engine (Backend)

📋 Description

• • As Tech Lead for the Core Product Engine (Backend) at Jerry Technologies Inc., you will lead the evolution of the company’s critical automation systems that orchestrate complex, multi-step insurance transactions with external systems, enabling scalable and fault-tolerant operations for a consumer-facing platform serving over 5M customers.
• • Day to day, you will spend 80% of your time in hands-on technical work, including refactoring legacy automation systems into a decoupled, scalable architecture, designing new standards, pairing with engineers, and leading incremental improvements to ensure predictability and testability, while also contributing to AI-first internal tooling for future growth to 50M users.
• • You will join a small, high-caliber team of ex-founders and builders who move fast, solve difficult problems, and operate with minimal bureaucracy, reporting directly to the co-founder/CTO in a culture that values ownership, initiative, and rapid execution.
• • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in asynchronous system design, state management, and retry logic while gaining exposure to massive customer data streams (telematics, shopping, payment) and shaping the technical foundation for Jerry.ai’s expansion into new product categories beyond insurance.
