- • Lead the design, development, and scaling of data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver real-time and batch data from digital signage systems, point-of-sale integrations, and customer interaction platforms across 50+ global markets.
- • Architect and maintain a robust data infrastructure using proprietary content management systems and hardware telemetry to support personalized customer experiences for global brands like McDonald’s.
- • Collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics teams to define data requirements, ensure data quality, and enable self-service analytics for non-technical stakeholders.
- • Optimize data workflows to handle high-volume, low-latency streams from thousands of in-store digital displays and drive-thru ordering terminals worldwide.
- • Implement and enforce data governance standards, including schema validation, lineage tracking, and access controls across cloud and on-premises environments.
- • Mentor and guide a team of data engineers and analysts, fostering best practices in code review, testing, deployment, and documentation.
- • Integrate third-party data sources such as CRM systems, loyalty programs, and inventory platforms to enrich customer behavior datasets used for dynamic content personalization.
- • Deploy and monitor ETL/ELT pipelines using modern tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Kafka) and ensure system reliability through alerting, logging, and automated recovery processes.
- • Work closely with hardware engineering teams to extract and standardize device-level metrics (e.g., uptime, thermal performance, screen engagement rates) into usable data models.
- • Translate business objectives into technical data solutions that directly impact customer engagement KPIs, such as order accuracy, upsell conversion, and dwell time.
- • Participate in cross-functional sprint planning, backlog grooming, and incident retrospectives to align data engineering efforts with product roadmaps and customer experience goals.
- • Maintain documentation for data schemas, pipeline dependencies, and operational runbooks to ensure knowledge continuity and onboarding efficiency.
- • Stay current with emerging data engineering trends and evaluate new technologies that improve scalability, cost-efficiency, or real-time processing capabilities.
- • Support global compliance initiatives by ensuring data handling practices meet regional regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) across international deployments.
- • Partner with customer success teams to diagnose data-related issues reported by brand partners and deliver timely, actionable insights to resolve operational gaps.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in data engineering with proven track record building scalable data pipelines for high-volume, real-time systems
- • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- • Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience using orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Prefect
- • Experience working with IoT or hardware telemetry data from physical devices in retail or QSR environments
- • Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and dimensional design principles
- • Experience leading or mentoring a team of data engineers
