- • As a Tech Lead Manager (TLM) for the highly driven Agents engineering team at Perplexity, you will be at the forefront of innovation, leading a talented group of AI ML, backend, and full-stack engineers.

- • You will be instrumental in leading, nurturing, and supporting your team as they tackle numerous complex and open-ended challenges in the AI domain.
- • Key responsibilities include designing AI agents that can intelligently navigate the digital landscape and execute increasingly valuable tasks on behalf of our users.
- • You will train sophisticated action and decision models, enabling agents to determine the most effective course of action based on complex, multimodal states to achieve user-specified objectives.

🎯 Requirements
- • Strong foundational familiarity with the full AI product stack, encompassing model development, deployment, and integration.
- • Proficiency in Python is essential; experience with TypeScript, Go, and/or Rust is considered a significant advantage.
- • Domain expertise in at least one of the following critical areas: Context engineering and tool interfaces for frontier AI models; Post-training and reinforcement learning (particularly for multimodal models); Browser technologies (CDP, Playwright, extension development, etc.).
- • Demonstrated strong product intuition and a keen taste for user experience excellence, with a proven ability to translate user needs into technical solutions.
- • Solid background and hands-on technical experience with frontier AI models, with a preference for those relevant to open-world agents.
- • Excellent organizational skills for managing and delivering multiple parallel technical projects, coupled with the ability to guide highly-opinionated teams in making sound tradeoffs and prioritization decisions.
- • Proven experience managing engineering teams, including successful track record in recruiting, growing, and retaining high-caliber talent.
- • A minimum of 8 years of overall engineering experience, with at least 3 of those years specifically in an engineering management capacity.
