📋 Description

• As a Tech Lead for Web Core Product & Chrome Extension at Speechify, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that reading is never a barrier to learning for over 50 million users worldwide. This position is central to shaping the user experience of Speechify’s core web and Chrome extension products, which are used to convert text from PDFs, books, websites, and more into audio, enabling faster and more effective learning.
• Day to day, you will actively ship production code to Speechify’s web products, collaborate closely with your dedicated product team to align technical execution with product vision, participate in strategic product discussions to influence the roadmap, and have the opportunity to work on innovative features that directly impact millions of users’ lives.
• You will join a fully distributed, high-caliber team of nearly 200 professionals spanning the globe, including engineers from Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and alumni from top PhD programs and high-growth startups like Stripe, Vercel, and Bolt. Speechify operates as a flat organization where leadership is earned through technical excellence, consistent delivery, and a results-driven mindset.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in modern web technologies, strengthen your ability to balance speed with quality in a fast-paced startup environment, and grow as a technical leader by influencing product direction, mentoring peers, and delivering impact at scale — all while contributing to a mission-driven company recognized by Google and Apple for excellence.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience building and shipping products that have scaled to thousands or millions of users
• Proficiency in the tech stack: Vanilla JS, ReactJS, Redux, Firebase, and Typescript
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with designers, marketers, and product managers
• Ability to work quickly, prioritize effectively, and maintain focus in a high-growth, remote setting
• Customer obsession and passion for building high-quality products that serve user needs
