Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Serve as the primary technical liaison between Metriport’s production customers and internal product/engineering teams, ensuring seamless integration and maximum platform value extraction.
- • Own the north star metric of customer health for all production customers, proactively monitoring usage patterns and identifying at-risk or underutilized accounts.
- • Drive value-led growth by identifying expansion opportunities rooted in actual customer needs, not just sales targets—revenue follows demonstrated ROI.
- • Detect gaps in customer adoption of Metriport’s features and propose targeted solutions to unlock significant value for their organizations, particularly in clinical and engineering workflows.
- • Design, implement, and refine cadenced customer engagement processes including check-ins, health reviews, and success milestones tailored to each customer’s stage and needs.
- • Translate complex technical concepts from Metriport’s API and data exchange platform into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders (e.g., clinical teams, administrators).
- • Communicate customer feedback, feature requests, and pain points directly to engineering and product teams to influence roadmap priorities and product improvements.
- • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key customer stakeholders across engineering, operations, and clinical departments, earning credibility through technical fluency and reliability.
- • Develop automated monitoring systems and alerting mechanisms to proactively identify customer usage anomalies or integration failures before they impact operations.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, customer success, engineering, and leadership to align on customer outcomes, reduce churn, and accelerate adoption.
- • Operate with high autonomy in a fast-paced, ambiguity-rich environment—driving projects to completion without predefined playbooks or rigid processes.
- • Work closely with the Chief of Staff, Founding Engineer, and Customer Success team during the first few months to elevate and scale Metriport’s account management framework.
- • Maintain deep familiarity with Metriport’s open-source data intelligence platform, including its integrations with major US healthcare IT systems and its coverage of 300+ million patient records.
- • Demonstrate ownership by asking “Why can’t this be done in 3 days?” instead of defaulting to lengthy timelines, embodying the company’s low-ego, high-accountability culture.
- • Work from Metriport’s San Francisco office six days a week, with flexibility to structure personal schedules around output and customer needs.
- • Contribute to building a customer success function that scales with the company’s growth, from 100+ customers toward broader market expansion.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years working in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Architect, Solutions Engineer) with exposure to formal or informal Technical Sales efforts
- • Technical fluency: comfortable reading API documentation and translating technical concepts between engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders
- • Expert relationship manager with obsession over customer success, paired with deep product knowledge to drive maximum value
- • Proven ability to solve complex, constrained problems using sound judgment, data-informed reasoning, and well-structured written narratives
- • Demonstrated collaborative ability to engage constructively with engineering, design, sales, and company leaders
- • Thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with no playbook—self-driven to deliver outcomes without rigid oversight
- • Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive equity + compensation package
- • Full family Platinum health insurance, dental, and vision coverage
- • 401(k) retirement plan + matching
- • Flexible work from home or in-office
- • Healthy lunches complimentary when in-office (and breakfast + dinners as needed)
- • Quarterly company off-sites with the team
- • MacBook provided by us
- • Unlimited PTO (trust-based, with expectation of sustainable intensity)
