  • • As a Technical Accounting and Revenue Recognition Expert at Lonza Group Ltd., you will be instrumental in navigating the complexities of financial reporting, specifically focusing on revenue recognition in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 15. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of intricate customer contracts and the ability to translate these into accurate revenue recognition policies and practices.
  • • You will serve as a recognized thought leader within the organization, providing expert guidance and subject matter expertise on revenue recognition to various stakeholders. This includes collaborating closely with Business Platform leadership teams across Finance, Program Management, and Commercial Development, as well as engaging with Corporate Finance.
  • • A key responsibility will be to partner effectively with leaders across Finance, Program Management, and Commercial teams. Your role will involve offering expert, independent guidance on the accounting treatment of complex customer contracts, ensuring compliance and optimal financial reporting.
  • • You will play a crucial role in building a comprehensive understanding of IFRS 15 across the business. This will be achieved through proactive knowledge sharing, delivering training sessions, and mentoring teams, including senior management, to foster a culture of accounting excellence and compliance.
  • • Leading continuous improvement initiatives will be a significant aspect of your work. You will identify opportunities to simplify and standardize contract review processes, aiming for greater efficiency and accuracy. Furthermore, you will explore and evaluate the potential of future technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), to enhance these processes.
  • • The preparation of clear, concise, and well-supported technical accounting memos and position papers will be essential. These documents will serve as critical resources to underpin key financial decisions and ensure robust documentation for internal and external reviews.
  • • You will work closely with external auditors, acting as a primary point of contact to clearly explain the company's accounting positions. Your ability to articulate complex financial concepts will be vital in supporting smooth and efficient audit reviews.
  • • A proactive approach to staying ahead of business challenges and changes in accounting standards is paramount. You will continuously monitor the evolving regulatory landscape, identify potential risks and opportunities, and ensure the company remains compliant with all relevant accounting regulations.
